Recycle For a Future is a non-profit NGO (Non-Governmental Organization) whose goal is to increase recycling rates in the state of Rio Grande do Norte. Currently, the state recycles only 2% of the waste produced. Our goal is to more than double that number, increasing up to 5% in one year. Brazil produces 80 million tons of waste every year, but recycles only 4%, while developed countries like Austria, Germany, Belgium, and South Korea already recycle more than 60%. The NGO works by connecting residential buildings and commercial establishments with the COCAMAR Recycling Cooperative and provides all of the necessary support for the success of the action. Besides helping to fight climate change, increasing recycling rates in Rio Grande do Norte will also be good for the economy and will generate new jobs, preventing the local population from working at dumping grounds in miserable conditions.
